Wizards Castle came out for the Amiga in 1988, developed by Kingsoft GmbH. It was one of those straightforward action platformers that filled out the library of home computers back then, not aiming to reinvent the wheel but offering a solid, if sometimes unforgiving, experience. You moved through a fantasy world that felt typical for the era, with simple graphics and a clear goal.

You control a wizard navigating side-scrolling levels, punching enemies like birds and slugs to clear your path. The main objective is to collect crystals scattered through each stage while avoiding instant death from any hit, which sends you right back to the start. You get twenty lives to work with, but the timer and one-hit kills keep the pressure constant. It feels like a race against yourself as much as the enemies on screen.
