Play WolfPack Online
WolfPack nails that slow-burn tension—you’ll spend ages plotting torpedo angles on sonar, then everything explodes when destroyers rush in. Jump between micro-managing subs or just setting patrols and letting time fly.

WolfPack is one of those old-school submarine sims that somehow makes staring at sonar blips and plotting torpedo angles weirdly intense. You're either hunting Allied convoys with a pack of U-boats or trying to protect merchant ships from getting picked off—either way, it's all about patience and sudden bursts of chaos. The cool part? You can jump between controlling individual subs or giving broad orders to the whole wolfpack, which means you might spend 20 minutes carefully positioning your boats... only to panic when three destroyers suddenly charge your position.
What I love is how flexible it is. Want to micro-manage every torpedo tube? Go for it. Prefer setting patrol routes and speeding up time until something happens? That works too. The real-time-with-pause style means things get tense when ships finally spot each other—those merchant ships might look helpless, but their single deck guns can ruin your day if you surface at the wrong moment. And yeah, the graphics are pure 90s MS-DOS (lots of wireframes and tiny sprites), but there's something weirdly immersive about squinting at radar screens while your crew shouts bearings in German.
Definitely not for everyone, but if you like slow-burn tactical games where one mistake means watching your sub sink in silence, this one's a classic.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
