Wordtris came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, published by Bullet-Proof Software. It was one of those puzzle games that felt a little different from the usual falling-block action on the SNES, trading colored squares for letters and asking you to think about words instead of just shapes.
You control a cursor that catches and arranges falling letter pairs, trying to form words of three letters or more to clear them from the screen. The main objective is to keep the playfield from filling up, using bombs to erase letters when you get stuck. The pace starts slow but quickly becomes frantic, especially in later stages where letters drop faster and the pressure to find words intensifies. It feels like a race against your own vocabulary, a constant push to spot combinations before everything piles up.
