Electronic Arts released World Tour Golf in 1986 as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games series. It was one of the early golf simulations for home computers, arriving at a time when detailed sports games were still a novelty on the platform. You control a golfer from a top-down perspective, working your way through a full 18 holes on a variety of courses. The main objective is to finish each round with the lowest score possible. Signature mechanics include a swing meter where timing is everything; you click to start the power bar and click again to set accuracy. You also manually adjust your aim for wind direction and club selection for each shot. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty comes from reading the course and mastering your own timing. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
