Play Worthy Opponent Online
Neon chess on MS-DOS where the AI outsmarts you until you learn to trap it—every move matters under that pulsing synth soundtrack.

Game Overview
"Worthy Opponent" is like if someone took chess, gave it a neon makeover, and cranked the tension way up. That first match starts simple—just you and the AI trading moves on this stark grid—but within minutes, you realize every decision ripples forward. The synth soundtrack hums in the background while you agonize over placements, knowing one slip means the AI will pounce.
What I love is how it tricks you at first. The clean lines and basic controls make it seem approachable, but then the AI starts pulling moves you didn’t even know were possible. I lost three matches before I figured out how to bait it into overextending. And when you finally win? Pure satisfaction. It’s got that old-school MS-DOS charm where the lack of flashy graphics just means nothing distracts from the razor-sharp gameplay.
Still holds up if you’re into strategy that makes you sweat a little. Just don’t blame me when you’re up at 2 AM muttering "one more game."
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
