Pick two fighters—X-Men or Street Fighter—and mash buttons until someone’s health bar disappears. Chun-Li kicking Wolverine in the face never stops being ridiculous.

X-Men vs. Street Fighter for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1996, a time when Capcom was pushing the boundaries of fighting games on home consoles. It was a strange and ambitious port of an arcade game that originally featured tag team mechanics and flashy special moves, though the SNES version had to simplify things quite a bit to fit on the cartridge.
You pick a single character from either the X-Men or Street Fighter roster and face off against a series of opponents in one-on-one battles. The main goal is to deplete your opponent's health bar before they deplete yours, using a combination of basic attacks, special moves, and super combos. The controls are responsive, but pulling off some of the more complex moves requires precise timing on the SNES controller. Matches are fast and aggressive, encouraging constant pressure rather than cautious play. It feels like a condensed, slightly stripped-down version of a much bigger arcade experience, but it still captures the chaotic fun of pitting these two universes against each other.
