Play X-Men vs. Street Fighter Online
Pick your fighter, mash some buttons, and watch Wolverine claw through a fireball—it’s janky, chaotic, and somehow works. Magneto’s still broken unless you spam Gambit’s cards.

Oh man, X-Men vs. Street Fighter on the SNES—this was the game that made me believe in crossover miracles. You pick your mutant or street fighter, mash some buttons, and suddenly Ryu’s throwing fireballs at Rogue while she tries to steal his powers. The sprites are chunky, the animations a little stiff compared to the arcade version, but who cares when you’re landing Wolverine’s berserker barrage on Zangief?
The roster’s smaller than you’d hope (no Psylocke, sadly), but the matchups still feel ridiculous in the best way. Dhalsim stretching his limbs only to get zapped by Storm’s lightning never gets old. And yeah, Magneto’s cheap as hell if you don’t know how to counter him—my little brother abused that move for weeks until I figured out Gambit’s card throw could interrupt it. Classic ’90s jank, but the kind that makes you laugh instead of rage.
It’s not the prettiest or most balanced fighter, but there’s something about the SNES sound effects and that crunchy pixel art that just feels right. Still fun to dust off when you’re craving some chaotic, no-frills brawling.
