Xenocide on MS-DOS is one of those games that throws you straight into the chaos. First thing? You're piloting this janky hovercraft through swarms of alien bugs that splatter against your windshield like overripe fruit, dodging jagged rocks while your fuel ticks down way too fast. The controls take some getting used to—you’ll probably scrape the hull a few times before making it to the docking bay.

Then suddenly, you're underground in a cave system with a jetpack strapped to your back. Good luck with that. The physics are floaty, and if you mess up a landing, you’re toast. Your job is to hunt down five bombs hidden in the tunnels, but half of them are tucked behind fake walls or guarded by these creepy crawlers that pop out of nowhere. The grenades help, but you’ll waste a lot of them just figuring out where to go.

There’s something satisfying about finally stumbling on a refuel station when your jetpack’s sputtering—like finding an oasis in a desert full of death traps. Just don’t celebrate too early. The bio-lab’s waiting.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
