Play Xi You Ji Online
You smack demons with Sun Wukong's staff, bounce between floating platforms, and figure out how to outsmart screen-filling bosses—clunky controls and all. That chiptune soundtrack and his ridiculous transformation animations just seal the deal.

Game Overview
Man, Xi You Ji takes me back—those pixelated demons, that tinny chiptune soundtrack, and Sun Wukong’s ridiculous staff twirls. You start off smacking basic goons, but before long, you’re bouncing between floating platforms or figuring out how to outsmart some screen-flying boss with a name you can’t pronounce. The controls are clunky in that classic DOS way, but it’s part of the charm.
What I love is how it turns Journey to the West into something that actually feels like an adventure, not just a button-masher. One minute you’re dodging fireballs in a temple, the next you’re using cloud-hopping to reach a hidden power-up. And yeah, the sprite art’s simple, but the animations—especially when Wukong transforms—still have this weirdly satisfying snap to them.
It’s not perfect (good luck with the jump timing on Level 4), but that’s half the fun. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a trip worth taking.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
