You blast rows of aliens in a straight-up Space Invaders clone—same old laser pew-pew, no surprises. Only for die-hard collectors or the most desperate retro shooter cravings.
Xtron is basically Space Invaders with a different coat of paint—one of the earliest commercial clones, made by Keypunch back in the MS-DOS days. You’ve got your rows of descending aliens, your little ship at the bottom, and the same pew-pew laser action. It’s fine, but don’t expect any twists—just the same loop of blasting away until you run out of lives.
Honestly, it gets old fast. The aliens don’t even change formation or speed up much, so after a few rounds, you’ve seen everything. The only real reason to dig this up is if you’re a collector hunting down obscure Keypunch titles, or if you really, really need another Space Invaders fix. Otherwise, there are way more interesting shooters out there.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
