Game Overview
Yoshi Touch & Go is one of those weird little Nintendo DS experiments that somehow works. You don’t control Yoshi directly—instead, you scribble clouds to guide him, tap enemies to turn them into eggs, and flick those eggs at other baddies. It’s simple, but the way you’re constantly drawing and tapping makes it feel frantic in the best way.
There’s only one level, but it loops endlessly with different modes—race against the clock, see how far you can get, or even battle a friend. The whole thing started as a tech demo to show off the DS’s touchscreen, and you can tell. It’s barebones, but the core idea is so clever that I kept coming back just to beat my high score.
Also, Baby Mario’s crying is somehow less annoying here than in Yoshi’s Island. Small victories.
