Play 2 In 1 - Sonic Advance & Sonic Battle (sUppLeX) (EU) Online
Race through levels as Sonic in Sonic Advance, and battle friends in Sonic Battle using unique moves and combos.
I picked up 2 In 1 - Sonic Advance & Sonic Battle for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004. It was a Sega release, a two-for-one cartridge that bundled two pretty different Sonic experiences into one. At the time, it felt like a solid deal for anyone looking to get more out of their GBA, especially since both games had their own distinct appeal without overlapping too much.
In Sonic Advance, you control Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy, speeding through side-scrolling stages, collecting rings, and defeating Robotnik's machines. The main goal is to get to the end of each act as quickly as possible, pulling off spin dashes and homing attacks to clear obstacles and enemies. Sonic Battle, on the other hand, shifts to an arena fighter where you build a team of characters, each with unique special moves and combo strings. You engage in one-on-one battles, customizing your fighter's move set and strategy. The pacing in Sonic Advance is fast and demanding, while Sonic Battle is more tactical, though both can get challenging. It feels satisfying to master the speed in one and the brawling in the other.
