Super Baseball 2020 is a 1991 arcade game by SNK, emulated in MAME 0.243. It takes the sport and pushes it into a sci-fi future, a common theme for games of that era, where teams are made up of robots and cyborgs playing on elaborate, futuristic fields.
You control a team of nine players, alternating between batting and fielding with the goal of simply outscoring your opponent. The signature mechanics are the super pitches, which include fireballs and other trick throws, and the jetpacks that fielders use to make impossible catches in the outfield. The game moves at a frantic pace, with the exaggerated physics and special abilities creating constant, unpredictable action. It feels like playing a cartoon version of baseball where the rules are just a suggestion.
