Game Overview

3D Pool came out for the Amiga in 1990, developed by Anco Software. It was one of several billiards games on the platform at the time, offering a clean and functional take on the sport without much flash. The game presented itself simply, focusing on the table and the tools rather than elaborate presentation or story.

You control the cue stick from an isometric perspective, lining up shots by adjusting angle and power before taking aim. The main goal is to pocket balls according to the rules of each mode, whether it's 8-ball, 9-ball, or straight pool. Key mechanics include applying spin to the cue ball for better positioning and competing against AI opponents with selectable difficulty levels. Matches move at a steady pace, and the physics demand careful consideration of each shot. It feels straightforward and satisfying when you sink a difficult combination or set up a break.
