Key mechanics involve purchasing and placing new trains, carefully plotting their timetables to maximize efficiency, and investing in real estate to spur city growth, which in turn increases ridership. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
