Ocean Software released The Addams Family for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. It was one of many licensed platformers of the era, based on the popular film, and it captured the strange, gothic look of the Addams mansion pretty well for its time.
You control Gomez Addams, moving through the mansion room by room, searching for scattered family members. You jump on enemies, bounce off walls to reach higher areas, and collect power-ups like a temporary invincibility star. The game is fairly difficult, with precise platforming and some frustrating enemy placements, but the quirky atmosphere and faithful setting make it engaging. It feels like a slightly clunky but earnest attempt to bring the family's oddball world into a playable form.
