Play Airlines Online
Manage your airline, buy planes, set ticket prices, and schedule routes while competing against rivals to dominate the skies in this 1988 business sim.
Airlines came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Taito. It was a business simulation game from a time when strategy titles often relied on spreadsheets and menus more than flashy graphics. You manage an airline company, competing against computer opponents in a race for dominance over a set number of years.
You control the entire operation, buying planes, setting ticket prices, and scheduling routes between cities. The main objective is to turn a profit and expand your fleet while outmaneuvering rival airlines. Key mechanics include balancing fuel costs against ticket income, managing aircraft maintenance to avoid disastrous mid-flight failures, and carefully timing your expansion to avoid financial overextension. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty can be punishing if you make a few bad investments early on. It feels like a tense, high-stakes chess match played with balance sheets and flight paths.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
