Play ALF's Thinking Skills Online
Solve puzzles, match pairs, and tackle memory games while ALF cracks jokes and keeps you on your toes in this educational MS-DOS classic from 1993.
I picked up ALF's Thinking Skills back in 1993, part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Vision Software. It was one of those educational titles that tried to dress up learning with a familiar face, in this case the wisecracking alien from the TV show. In an era dominated by platformers and point-and-click adventures, it stood out simply by being a puzzle collection with a lot of personality.
You don't control a character so much as you direct your own reasoning through a series of logic puzzles, pattern recognition tests, and memory games. The main objective is to solve each challenge to progress, with ALF himself providing constant, sarcastic feedback on your performance. The mechanics are straightforward; you click options, arrange sequences, or match pairs, all while dealing with his running commentary. The pacing is methodical, and some puzzles can be genuinely tricky, demanding real focus. It feels like having a cheeky study partner who never lets you take things too seriously.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
