Play Alone in the Dark 2 Online
Creep through a haunted mansion as Edward or Grace, swinging at zombie pirates with whatever’s handy—half the scares come from the janky combat, the other half from those tense fixed camera angles.

Alone in the Dark 2 came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, published by I•Motion, Inc. It was part of that wave of early PC horror games that relied on atmosphere and fixed camera angles to build tension. You could feel the genre starting to take shape, even if the technology still had its rough edges.
You play as either Edward Carnby or Grace Saunders, navigating a spooky pirate-themed mansion and its grounds. Your goal is to rescue a kidnapped girl while fighting off undead pirates and other supernatural threats. The game uses screen-by-screen exploration, with each new view revealing another piece of the eerie setting. Combat is clunky but tense; you swing weapons like swords or fire pistols with limited ammo, often feeling vulnerable. Puzzles break up the action, requiring you to find keys or combine items. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the difficulty can spike without warning. Playing it feels like stepping into a low-budget horror movie where every corner could hide something unsettling.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
