Play Are We There Yet Online
Drive your station wagon, dodge road hazards, keep the kids calm, and survive a chaotic cross-country trip in Are We There Yet.
Are We There Yet is a lesser known MS-DOS title from the early 1990s, released as part of a compilation of classic games. It was developed by a small studio whose name has largely faded from memory, but the game itself captures a certain chaotic charm typical of the shareware era. You play as a beleaguered parent on a cross country road trip, trapped in a station wagon with relentlessly impatient children.
You control the driver, managing the car's speed while fending off distractions from the backseat. The main objective is simply to survive the journey without losing your sanity. Key mechanics include steering to avoid road hazards, answering repetitive questions from the kids to keep them calm, and playing a bizarre license plate bingo minigame that occasionally summons UFOs. The pacing is deliberately stressful, with events piling up quickly, and the difficulty comes from multitasking under pressure. It feels like trying to solve three puzzles at once while someone shouts in your ear.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
