Game Overview

Armored Fist came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by NovaLogic. It was part of that wave of early 90s military sims that tried to bring a bit of realism to home computers, back when polygons were still a novelty and most games ran on sprites and imagination. You didn't get much hand-holding; it expected you to figure things out, to treat the manual like a real field guide.

You control an M1A1 Abrams tank commander, responsible for everything from navigation to firing the main gun. Your main objective is to complete missions across various combat scenarios, often involving search and destroy or holding positions against enemy armor. Signature mechanics include switching between different views, like the commander's sight or the gunner's crosshairs, and managing your ammunition and damage reports manually. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, until contact is made; then it becomes a tense exercise in positioning and quick decisions. It feels less like playing a game and more like operating heavy, unforgiving equipment.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
