ATV: Quad Power Racing came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of a wave of portable racing games trying to capture the feel of console off-road titles, a decent attempt to bring that kind of chaotic, muddy fun into your hands.
You control a rider on a four-wheeler, racing against AI opponents across a variety of dirt and paved tracks. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. The handling varies wildly between the different ATVs; some slide too much on turns, while others feel planted but lack top speed. You also have to manage a turbo boost that builds up by performing tricks off jumps, a risky move that can lead to a crash if you land poorly. The AI is aggressive, often bumping you into walls or other obstacles, which keeps the races tense and unpredictable. It feels like a constant fight for control on unforgiving terrain.
