Game Overview
If you've ever wanted to see Sonic the Hedgehog and a bunch of other SEGA characters crammed into tiny karts on your DS screen, this is your game. It's basically SEGA's answer to Mario Kart, but with more loop-de-loops and less banana peels.
The tracks feel familiar if you've played the console version, though some got a little facelift to fit the handheld. Mission Mode's different too—instead of letter grades, you're chasing stars now, which honestly makes more sense when you're racing as a guy who throws curry (yes, that's actually a character).
Roster's a bit slim compared to the big-screen version, but you still get the heavy hitters: Sonic, Tails, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, even that weird blue blob from NiGHTS. The controls are tight for a DS racer, though good luck pulling off a perfect drift on those tiny shoulder buttons.
It's chaotic, colorful, and exactly what you'd expect from SEGA throwing all their mascots into one cartoony pileup.
