I picked up Ben 10: Galactic Racing for the Nintendo DS back in 2011, a time when licensed kart racers were common on the handheld. D3 Publisher put it out, and it fit right in with that era of quick, portable games based on cartoons. It wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, just offer some fast fun with characters I already liked.
You choose from a roster of Ben's alien forms, each with their own handling and special ability tied to the touch screen. The goal is straightforward: win three-lap races across planets from the show, hitting boost pads and using power-ups to knock opponents off course. The track design encourages cutting corners and finding alternate paths, which keeps things interesting. Races are short and the difficulty is manageable, making it easy to jump in for a few minutes. It feels responsive and chaotic in the way a good kart racer should.
