Play Baal Online

Baal came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, published by Psygnosis. It was one of many action games from that era, a time when developers were still figuring out how to make the most of the hardware. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just drops you into its world and expects you to deal with it.

You control a lone warrior armed with a bow, moving screen by screen through a series of mazes. Your goal is to find and defeat the demon Baal, which involves navigating labyrinthine corridors, collecting keys to open doors, and shooting down a relentless stream of monsters. The pacing is slow, partly because of the methodical exploration and partly due to the stiff, deliberate controls. The difficulty is unforgiving, with enemies that respawn and limited resources that make every shot count. It feels like a grim, solitary chore, a test of patience more than skill.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
