Game Overview

Bad Street Brawler came out in 1987 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Beam Software. It was a side-scrolling beat 'em up for a platform that didn't see many of them, offering a straightforward, no-frills take on the genre during a time when arcade-style action was still finding its footing on home computers.

You control Duke, a muscular guy in a tank top, moving screen by screen through urban environments. Your goal is to fight through waves of unusual enemies, like gorillas in suits and elderly women swinging purses, using punches, kicks, and occasional weapons found on the ground. The controls feel stiff and deliberate, which adds to the challenge; timing your attacks becomes crucial as enemies swarm from both sides. Despite its rough edges, there's a odd charm to pushing through the clunky mechanics and unpredictable enemy behavior. It feels like wrestling with an old arcade cabinet that sometimes fights back.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
