Bang! came out in 2002 as an arcade light gun shooter developed by Daedalus. You control a crosshair on screen, aiming and firing at whatever the game throws at you. The main objective is simply to survive each stage by hitting your targets and avoiding penalties for misses or civilian hits. Signature mechanics include rapid shifts in scenario, like going from shooting bottles in a saloon to fending off train robbers mid-ambush, and sometimes even absurd tasks like popping soap bubbles with very limited ammo. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty spikes without warning if you miss a tutorial cue.
