Game Overview

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty’s Revenge on the GBA is basically a tiny, travel-sized version of the N64 classics—and honestly, it’s impressive how much of that goofy charm they squeezed into a cartridge this small. You’re still collecting notes, smacking enemies with Kazooie’s beak, and listening to Grunty’s terrible rhymes, just now on a screen that fits in your pocket.

The time-travel story’s a fun excuse to revisit familiar places with a twist, and switching between Banjo (slow but strong) and Kazooie (fast but fragile) keeps the platforming fresh. Some of the levels feel a bit cramped compared to the console games, but there’s something satisfying about knocking out a quick session between bus stops. Also, the music’s still weirdly catchy, even in 8-bit.

If you’ve got nostalgia for the original, this one’s a solid way to kill time without sacrificing the series’ personality. Just don’t expect it to replace your N64 marathons.
