Game Overview

Bank Buster came out on the Amiga in 1988, developed by Methodic Solutions and published by Novtech. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the platform, offering a straightforward but engaging concept during a time when many titles were experimenting with more complex mechanics. You don't hear much about it these days, but it had a certain charm that kept me coming back.

You control a small, determined character with a single goal: tunnel your way into the bank vault. Using a multi-directional paddle, you dig through layers of earth, carefully avoiding unbreakable obstacles like trees and protected floor sections. Sometimes you need to use dynamite to blast through tougher walls, which adds a nice bit of strategy to the digging. The pacing is steady but tense, especially as you get closer to the vault and the layout becomes more treacherous. It feels satisfying to finally break through, even if it takes a few tries to get the route just right.
