Barbie Super Model came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Hi Tech Expressions. It was a time when licensed games were common, and this one fit right in, offering a colorful, if simple, diversion for younger players on the platform.
You control Barbie through several side-scrolling levels, navigating city streets and fashion show runways. The main goal is to reach the end of each stage while avoiding obstacles like traffic, puddles, and other hazards that can ruin your outfit or end your run. Between levels, there's a pose-matching mini-game where you try to replicate Barbie's movements using the keyboard. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can feel surprisingly unforgiving for a game aimed at a casual audience. It feels like a chaotic, slightly janky race against the clock where success is often more about memorization than style.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
