Game Overview

Batman on the Game Boy came out in 1989, developed by Sunsoft. It was one of the early licensed games for the handheld, a time when you expected simple, portable versions of bigger console titles. This one tried to capture the feel of the movie, all on that small green screen.

You control Batman through side-scrolling stages, punching and kicking Joker's thugs while avoiding traps like spikes and closing walls. Your main goal is to stop the Joker, moving screen by screen through industrial areas and caverns. You have a limited supply of Batarangs to throw at distant enemies, and you need to carefully time your jumps across gaps. The pacing is deliberate, the difficulty is high, and every enemy encounter demands attention. It feels tense and focused, like a careful puzzle of movement and combat.
