I picked up Ben 10: Alien Force - Vilgax Attacks for the PlayStation Portable back in 2009, a game developed by Papaya Studio and published by D3 Publisher. It was a solid action title for the PSP, fitting right in with the era's portable beat 'em ups and licensed games based on popular cartoons. You don't see many of these kinds of handheld adaptations anymore, but at the time, it was a straightforward way to jump into Ben's world.

You control Ben Tennyson, switching between his alien forms to fight through waves of enemies. The main goal is to stop Vilgax's invasion across various planets. Key mechanics include using specific aliens for environmental puzzles, like freezing pathways with Big Chill or smashing obstacles with Humungousaur, alongside pulling off combos in real time combat. The pacing is fairly quick, though some sections can feel repetitive. It feels like a competent, if sometimes predictable, portable brawler.
