Game Overview

Black Monday is that rare MS-DOS game where playing the stock market feels more like a back-alley knife fight than a spreadsheet simulator. You start off with a modest portfolio and a list of rival corporations—then quickly realize the "legal" way to win is just one boring option among many. Why buy shares when you can hack their systems, plant rumors, or straight-up bribe officials to tank their stock? The game doesn’t judge.

The atmosphere nails that late '80s cyberpunk-meets-Wall-Street vibe, all neon-lit terminals and synth-heavy music that somehow makes insider trading feel cool. I lost my first playthrough because I got too greedy short-selling a competitor, only for them to retaliate by leaking my own dirty secrets. Brutal, but fair. If you like strategy games where the rulebook is more of a suggestion, this one’s still weirdly addictive decades later.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
