Play Black Shadow Online
1988 Amiga vertical shooter. Control a spaceship, destroy alien bases across levels using bullets and bombs. Features 2-player co-op with shared lives.

Black Shadow came out for the Amiga in 1988 from CRL Group PLC. It was a vertical shooter in an era when the platform was starting to show what it could really do with fast action and smooth scrolling. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it offered a solid, straightforward experience that felt right at home among other shooters of the time.
You pilot a small, nimble spacecraft through waves of enemy ships and structures, firing a constant stream of bullets and dropping bombs to clear a path. The main goal is to survive each stage, destroy the enemy base at the end, and move on to the next, progressively harder level. One of its key mechanics is the two-player cooperative mode, where you and a friend share a pool of lives, adding a layer of shared tension. The pacing is relentless; enemies pour in from all sides, and the screen scrolls upward at a steady clip, leaving little room for error. It feels tense and demanding, a game that asks for your full attention from the moment you start.
