Block Block came out in 1991 as an arcade game from Capcom. It was part of that wave of early 90s games where developers were still pushing what they could do with simple concepts. You see it next to a lot of other puzzle and action cabinets from that time, but it had its own particular rhythm.

You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen, deflecting a single ball to break all the blocks above. The main goal is to clear each stage completely before you run out of lives from letting the ball drop. Its signature mechanics involve the ball's physics; it can ricochet at sharp angles, and you can catch and re-launch it for more control. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly with more complex block arrangements and obstacles. It feels satisfying to set up a perfect chain of bounces that clears half the screen in seconds.
