Block Out came out in 1989 as an arcade game from PZK, a Polish developer. It was part of that era where puzzle games were moving beyond two dimensions, offering something a little more spatial and disorienting than the flat grids people were used to. You control a three-dimensional tetromino as it falls into a pit. Your goal is to rotate and position these shapes to form complete horizontal layers, which then vanish.
