Bonanza Bros. came out on the Sega Master System in 1991, a Sega release that fit right in with the platform's mix of arcade-style action and quirky concepts. You control either Mobo or Robo, one of two brother thieves, tasked with stealing specific items from each room of a heavily guarded mansion. The gameplay is screen by screen; you move left or right, ducking behind furniture to avoid the gaze of patrolling guards. Your main tool is a slingshot, which you use to temporarily knock out anyone who spots you, but you have to be quick and accurate. The objective is to find every target item in a stage before a strict timer runs out, and if you miss even one, you have to backtrack through rooms where defeated guards eventually wake up. The pressure is constant, making you weigh cautious movement against the need for speed. It feels like a tense, silly race against the clock where every shot counts.
