Game Overview
Man, Boxer Rebellion is one of those MS-DOS games that just sticks with you. You start off as some nobody in a dingy gym, throwing jabs at a punching bag, and before long you're ducking uppercuts from guys named "Iron" Mike or "Bruiser" Joe. The controls are dead simple—arrow keys to move, a couple buttons to punch—but timing matters. Miss a block, and you'll eat a right hook that sends your guy stumbling back like a drunk.
What I love is how scrappy it feels. No flashy cutscenes or over-the-top special moves, just you and some pixelated brute trading blows until one of you hits the canvas. The crowd cheers (well, as much as tinny MIDI can cheer), and suddenly you're hooked. It’s got that "one more round" pull, especially when you lose to some guy who clearly cheats. (I’m looking at you, "Crusher" Carl.)
If you’ve got a soft spot for games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a knockout. Just don’t blame me when you’re still playing at 2 AM, muttering about revenge matches.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
