So Bubble Bobble is this weirdly charming NES game where you play as two little dinosaur dudes (Bub and Bob—they used to be human, long story). Basically, you're hopping around single-screen levels blowing bubbles at enemies. Sounds cute, right? But there's some real strategy here—you can use bubbles as platforms, trap bad guys in them, then pop them for points. Mess around too long though, and this nightmare blob called Baron Von Blubba shows up to ruin your day.

What's cool is how different it feels with two players—my cousin and I used to argue over who got to be Bob. The endings change depending on whether you play solo or co-op, and there's even a secret Super Bubble Bobble mode if you know the code (took me forever to find that as a kid).
