Play Bushido Online
Guide a ninja through a fortress, fight guards, dodge traps, and rescue a kidnapped princess in this challenging action platformer from 1983.
Bushido came out in 1983 for MS-DOS, published by Advanced Computer Products. It was one of those early action games that tried to do a lot with very little, fitting right into the era when simple graphics and straightforward concepts were the norm. You don't see many games from that time trying to blend platforming and combat in quite the same way.
You control a lone ninja making his way through a fortress, screen by screen. The main goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess, which means fighting guards, avoiding hazards, and navigating tricky jumps. Key mechanics include using a sword for close combat, a bow for ranged attacks, and performing backflips to dodge enemies or traps. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is high; every enemy encounter and platforming section demands precision. It feels tense and deliberate, where a single mistake often means starting the room over again.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
