Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Nintendo DS came out in 2007, published by Activision. It was a time when developers were still figuring out how to bring big console shooters to a handheld, and this was one of the more ambitious attempts. You got a full Modern Warfare campaign, just scaled down for the dual screens and stylus controls.

You control a soldier through a series of missions, fighting enemy forces across various locations. The main goal is to complete objectives like securing intel or defending positions, moving from one combat zone to the next. The touch screen is used for aiming and looking around, while the bottom screen displays your map and equipment. Missions are linear and fairly short, with a difficulty that spikes during some firefights. It feels surprisingly tense to play a full-scale shooter on such a small device.
