D-pad movement, touchscreen aiming—sounds weird but it clicks after a few firefights. Still get that rush clearing rooms and holding your breath during sniper sections, just pocket-sized.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Nintendo DS, released in 2007 by Activision, was a surprising technical feat for the handheld. It arrived during a period when developers were still figuring out how to translate big console experiences onto the dual screens, and this was one of the more ambitious attempts to bring a full first person shooter campaign into your hands.
You control a soldier through a series of modern military missions, fighting to stop a global crisis. Movement is handled with the D pad, while aiming and shooting are managed entirely with the touchscreen and stylus. The game uses the top screen for the main action and the bottom as an interactive map or for grenade throwing and melee attacks. The pacing is intense, with frequent enemy encounters and objectives that push you through urban streets and hostile compounds. It feels surprisingly responsive once you adjust to the control scheme, delivering a compact but genuine Call of Duty firefight experience on the go.
