Cars 2 on PlayStation Portable came out in 2011, developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive Studios. It was one of those tie-in racers that felt right at home on the PSP, a system that saw plenty of licensed games during its run. The game follows the plot of the film, so you get a mix of racing and spy-themed action across international locations.

You control Lightning McQueen and other characters from the movies, competing in World Grand Prix races while occasionally taking on covert objectives. The racing itself is straightforward arcade style, with drifting and boosting as key mechanics. Between races, you engage in spy missions that involve stealth, avoiding guards, and completing objectives without being detected. The pacing shifts between high-speed events and slower, more deliberate sneaking sections. It’s a simple but varied experience that captures the movie’s over-the-top spirit.
