This version of Checkers was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a simple but functional digital adaptation of the classic board game. You control your set of pieces, moving them diagonally across the black squares to capture your opponent's men by jumping over them. The main goal is to eliminate all of the computer's pieces or block them from making any legal moves. Key mechanics include forced captures, where you must take a jump if available, and kinging, which allows a piece that reaches the far row to move both forward and backward. The AI provides a steady challenge, often punishing careless moves, and the pacing is methodical, encouraging patience and foresight. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
