Play City Defence Online
1987 Amiga action game. Defend cities from alien attacks using a missile defense system. Features mouse-controlled aiming, chain reaction explosions, and bonus targets.
City Defence came out in 1987 for the Amiga, published by Kingsoft GmbH. It was one of those early mouse-driven games that felt genuinely new on the platform, a straightforward concept executed with clean graphics and responsive controls. It didn't try to be an epic; it was a focused arcade-style experience that fit right in with the Amiga's growing library of action titles.
You control a crosshair with the mouse, firing missiles from your base to intercept waves of alien ships and bombs before they destroy the cities below. The main goal is survival; you have to protect all your cities for as long as possible. Key mechanics include triggering chain reactions by hitting clustered enemies and aiming for bonus targets like UFOs for extra points. The pacing is relentless, with the difficulty ramping up quickly as more targets fill the screen. It feels tense and immediate, demanding quick reflexes and sharp aim just to stay in the game a little longer.
