Play Cobra Online
Hop in a weird flying thing and dodge bullets while spraying lead everywhere—it’s that kind of game where you die, curse, and immediately hit retry. The pixels explode just right.

Cobra was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several titles from the era. I don't recall the developer offhand, but it fits right in with the kind of straightforward, challenging shooters that were common on the platform back then. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just gave you a ship and a lot of things to shoot.
You pilot a small, agile craft through a series of side-scrolling and overhead levels, clearing each screen of enemy ships and installations. Your main objective is simply survival, navigating tight corridors and open spaces while managing a constant barrage of enemy fire. The game employs a screen by screen progression, locking you in each area until all hostiles are eliminated. You collect power-ups to enhance your weapons, switching between different shot types to handle the increasing swarms. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes quickly, demanding precise movement and quick reflexes. It feels like a constant, tense dance between evasion and aggression.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
