In Lyoko, the gameplay shifts to an isometric view where you explore maze-like sectors, fight off hostile creatures called monsters with a basic sword or laser arrow combat system, and activate towers to deactivate threats. The pace is deliberate, with the school sections feeling a bit slow and the Lyoko combat being simple but functional.
