Game Overview

Comix Zone was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Sega and published by THQ. It arrived late in the system's life, a time when developers were pushing the hardware with more ambitious ports of older console titles. The game stands out for its visual style, which faithfully recreates the look and feel of a gritty, hand-drawn comic book from the 1990s.

You control Sketch Turner, a comic book artist who gets pulled into his own creation. Your goal is to fight through six levels of panel-by-panel brawling to reach the final boss. The signature mechanics include breaking through panel borders to access hidden areas, using your pet rat Roadkill to solve puzzles in small crawlspaces, and a combat system that mixes punches, kicks, and special moves. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is notoriously high, demanding precise inputs and quick reactions. It feels like a tough, hands-on scrap where every enemy encounter requires your full attention.
