Play Conqueror Online
Control a squad of tanks, strategize in real time, destroy enemy units, manage ammo, and coordinate movements to complete missions in this tactical challenge from 1988.
Conqueror came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Superior Software Ltd. It was one of those late 80s PC games that didn't try to dazzle with graphics but offered something a little different for players who liked tactical challenges. The era was full of arcade ports and simple platformers, but this one stood out for its focus on teamwork and vehicle combat.
You control a small squad of tanks, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and you can switch between them in real time during battles. The main goal is to complete missions by destroying enemy units and structures while keeping your own forces alive. Two key mechanics are managing your limited ammunition and coordinating movement with aiming, since the turrets turn independently from the tank's direction. The pacing is deliberate, almost sluggish at first, and the difficulty comes from enemy numbers and your own clumsy controls. It feels satisfying when you finally pull off a coordinated attack without crashing into a wall or running out of shells.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
