Play Constructor - Demo Version Online

You start with a dirt lot and a handful of workers, then hustle to build sawmills before rival gangs do—until you realize hiring thugs to torch their buildings works better. The demo’s got that janky MS-DOS charm where fistfights look like slideshows.

Game Overview

Constructor came out in 1997 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by System 3. It was a time when strategy and simulation games were finding their footing on PC, and this one stood out for its unusual premise. Instead of managing a city or an army, you ran a construction company with a distinctly criminal edge.

You control a construction boss, directing workers to build structures like sawmills and houses while sabotaging rival companies. The main goal is to dominate the map by outbuilding and undermining opponents. Key mechanics include assigning workers to specific tasks, setting buildings on fire to disrupt competitors, and hiring thugs for more aggressive tactics. The pacing is hectic; you are constantly balancing resource gathering with defensive and offensive moves. It feels chaotic and mischievous, like running a legitimate business with decidedly illegitimate methods.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
